Bio Statement

 

Alexander T. Nguyen, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He trained at the University of California, Los Angeles and The University of Texas Southwestern and is board certified in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Nguyen specializes in complex reconstructive surgery in cancer patients. His clinical interests include reconstructive surgery for patients with breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck, and skin cancers. Dr. Nguyen also specializes in and has developed novel approaches to the surgical treatment of lymphedema - chronic swelling that may occur after cancer treatment.

Research Interests

Dr. Nguyen's research interests include outcomes improvements with plastic surgery, trunk reconstruction, minimally invasive approaches to plastic surgery, and surgical interventions for lymphedema.
