Bio Statement

Dr Rice was born in Dublin, Ireland and graduated from the School of Medicine, Trinity College, Dublin in 1991. From 1992 - 1998 he undertook a residency in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his Cardiothoracic Residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, in 2001. He joined the faculty of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2001 where he is currently Associate Professor in Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Dr Rice is known nationally and internationally for his work in mesothelioma. His other main area of clinical interest is in minimally invasive surgery for thoracic malignancies.
