Bio Statement
Jessica A. Moore, DHCE, joined the faculty of M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, in March 2009, as an Instructor in the Department of Critical Care and Clinical Ethicist in the Section of Integrated Ethics in Cancer Care. Dr. Moore was promoted to Assistant Professor in September 2011. She received her Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and her Doctorate in Health Care Ethics from Duquesne University. Her doctoral research emphasized the interdisciplinary care of the whole person.
Dr. Moore is active in the ethics consultation service and participates in weekly rounds in numerous clinical departments. As the education director, she coordinates and provides education to a variety of learners including: MD Anderson faculty and staff, clinical ethics and research ethics interns and fellows, clinical ethics certificate students, community members, and students of external programs.
Research Interests
1) improved patient care through interdisciplinary models, 2) the effects of age (at both ends of the spectrum), culture, and faith-tradition on medical decision-making, 3) clinical decision-making with and for special populations, and 4) the use of genetic information in clinical research and treatment.
