Present Title & Affiliation

Primary Appointment

Instructor, Department of Epidemiology, Division of OVP, Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX
Senior Statistical Analyst, Department of Epidemiology, Division of OVP, Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX

Research Interests

Dr. Ma's research area spans segregation and linkage analysis using Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo method, variance components approach, characterization and correction of ascertainment bias in genetic pedigree data analysis, influence of ascertainment on the estimation of gene-environment and gene-gene interaction, principle component approach for detecting and correcting population stratification in genome wide association studies, targeted association studies or replication studies. His current interest includes (1) detecting gene-environment interaction using Classification and Regression Tree and Random Forest; and (2) mapping and characterizing modifier genes affecting the age-onset of Li-Fraumeni syndrome by performing Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo segragation and linkage analysis.
