Dr. Peter W.T. Pisters is a Professor of Surgical Oncology in the Department of the Surgical Oncology and the Center for Global Oncology at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, USA.  He serves as Medical Director of the M. D. Anderson Regional Cancer Centers.  Dr. Pisters is also the Co-Chair of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG) Gastrointestinal Committee and is the Group Vice-Chair for Surgery for the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.  He is a member of the editorial board of multiple surgery and oncology journals and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and 60 book chapters. His current research interests include gastrointestinal stromal tumors, pancreatic neoplasms, gastric cancer, and soft tissue sarcomas.
