Bio Statement

Dr. Stella Kim spent 10 years at Harvard Medical School, where she received her medical degree, completed a 2-year research fellowship with Dr. Ted Dryja in retinoblastoma and ocular genetics, medical internship at the Mount Auburn Hospital, and ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. After a year at the University of Utah for her fellowship in cornea, external diseases & refractive surgery at the John A. Moran Eye Center with Dr. Randy Olson, Dr. Kim joined faculty at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Ophthalmology Section, where she is currently an associate professor in ophthalmology with adjunct in the department of radiation oncology and in the department of ophthalmology at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Kim’s clinical, surgical, and research interests are in the areas of ocular surface diseases and malignancies, in particular in the management of ocular graft vs. host disease, radiation and chemotherapy induced ocular surface diseases, cataracts in cancer patients, and in melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the conjunctiva.

She serves as the Program Director for Ophthalmology Residency Rotations at MDACC, the Director for Ophthalmology Clinical Research, Chair of the institution Clinical Research Committee, and as a member of IRB at MDACC.
