About Dr. John R Bowers
Dr. John Bowers is a faculty member at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and also serves as a committee member for the Presbyterian MD Anderson Cancer Center in New Mexico.
He specializes in the advanced radiation delivery techniques of volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which allows delivery of radiation to the intended area and spares of the surrounding healthy tissue. This specialized expertise ensures precision treatment and improved outcomes. Dr. Bowers also specializes in the delivery of high-dose-rate brachytherapy radiation in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.
Dr. Bowers trained in radiation oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and received additional training in genitourinary and central nervous system cancers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
