Research Interests
I am a highly skilled veterinary clinician with broad experience caring for a wide variety of species and animal models. My collaborative skills are highlighted by my publication history and my experience working with many types of people in a variety of circumstances (private practice, academia, health-care and shelter medicine). I possess the ability to manage large, complex animal programs and have extensive experience with genetically altered mice. I can provide whatever kind of support MD Anderson investigators need to accomplish their research goals. I have experience with drug development, and with GLP. I have comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory and compliance processes related to animal research and an in-depth understanding of the AAALAC accreditation process. I have provided comparative medicine expertise for cancer prevention and therapy studies using animal models. These projects have included development, in life monitoring, sample collection, and documentation of studies using genetically engineered, orthotopic tumor, and patient-derived xenograft models.
