About Dr. Anecita Fadol
Dr. Anecita Fadol, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, FHKAN (Hon.), FAAN, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing with a joint appointment in the Department of Cardiology, and the Education Director - Nursing Cardiology Program at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Fadol is a nursing pioneer in the evolving field of Cardio-Oncology. Her extensive and unique expertise in Cardio-Oncology has been recognized nationally and internationally. She is a sought-after speaker for Cardio-Oncology topics at national and international conferences. She has authored numerous book chapters, published in peer-reviewed journals, and is the editor of the “Cardiac Complications of Cancer Therapy.” Her program of research focuses on cardiotoxicity and includes the development and validation of the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Heart Failure (MDASI-HF) instrument, which was subsequently translated into Chinese and Spanish. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS) and chair of the nursing leadership committee. She spearheaded the development of the Cardio-Oncology Nursing Education (CONE) Program, a groundbreaking global educational initiative designed to empower nurses in supporting patients through cancer and survivorship. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Nursing, and an Honorary Fellow in Cardiac Nursing by the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing.
