      About Dr. Megan Kalambo

Dr. Megan Kalambo is a Professor in the Department of Breast Imaging at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). She serves as the Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for the Houston Area Locations (HALs) and as Faculty Co-Director of the MD Anderson Leadership Institute. She earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, completed residency at The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston, and completed a dedicated breast imaging fellowship at MD Anderson in 2012. She joined the faculty in 2013. She also earned her MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2026.

From 2014 to 2020, Dr. Kalambo served as a community-based academic radiologist through MD Anderson’s network expansion partnership with Memorial Hermann. In 2020, she was appointed Faculty Lead for the Houston Area Locations, and in 2021, she became the inaugural Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for HALs. In this role, she leads clinical operations across three multidisciplinary breast centers and supports strategic initiatives tied to community expansion, access, and partnership engagement.

Dr. Kalambo’s professional interests center on optimizing cancer care delivery across academic and community settings. Her work focuses on systems-based leadership, data-driven decision-making in clinical operations, and scalable care delivery models that support patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration. She is also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of physicians, with a particular focus on pipeline development—supporting and guiding college students, medical students, and residents as they explore and advance in careers in medicine.
