Bio Statement

Dr. Vikram is an Associate Professor of Radiology in Abdominal Imaging. He obtained his medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, India. He completed residency training in internal medicine before his radiology training in the United Kingdom and is board certified in both Medicine and Radiology in the United Kingdom. He is also board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr Vikram did his fellowship in Abdominal Radiology at M D Anderson Cancer center in 2006-2007 and has been a faculty since. He currently serves as the Fellowship Director for Body Imaging Fellowship at M D Anderson.

Dr. Vikram has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, 4 book chapters, and more than 75 abstracts. Dr. Vikram serves as a journal reviewer for several scientific journals including JMRI and Abdominal Imaging. He serves on expert panels in the American College of Radiology Appropriateness criteria for Genitourinary Radiology and in the American Joint Committee for Cancer. He serves in various leadership positions and several national radiology societies including the RSNA and Society of Abdominal Imaging. Dr. Vikram has lectured extensively at a national and international level and was awarded the RSNA Honored Education Award in 2012.  Dr. Vikram’s areas of interest include imaging of abdominal and pelvic malignancies with special emphasis on genito-urinary malignancies, and identification of imaging surrogates of genetic aberrations in malignancies.
