Dangler, MD, MBA is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine practicing at the University of Texas MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston, TX. She is also designated as a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA).

She grew up in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where she received a BS in Nursing. She then worked at Grady Memorial, the leading public academic hospital in Atlanta, Georgia treating trauma victims and the underserved of Fulton County.

She soon went on to receive her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1993, then completed Anesthesiology residency at the University of Florida, and fulfilled her fellowship training in Regional Anesthesia at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.

At the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, she received her consultant status and was instrumental in initiating their first preoperative clinic , as well as teamed up to help start their ambulatory peripheral nerve block service to help alleviate orthopedic surgical pain. Subsequently, she taught and mentored both anesthesia residents and regional anesthesia fellows at the University of Florida. During that time, she completed her MBA from the University of South Florida at Tampa with highest honors.

In 2006, Dr. Dangler accepted a position at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Anesthesiology where she had focused on hepatobiliary anesthesia for many years. Now, she provides clinical anesthesiology services primarily to ambulatory cancer patients. She also holds a joint appointment in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. She has been involved in numerous academic and administrative duties throughout her department, division and institution including finance, diversity, quality improvement assessment boards, policy and procedure, steering committees, and task force facilitation.

She is an active member of the TMA, TSA, and ASA. In these societies, she has had varying roles and participated as an alternate delegate, speaker, moderator, and meeting planner. Committee membership has included the TSA Art, History, Practice Management Committee and Long-Range Planning Committees and within the ASA, she has been engaged with the Committee on Professional Diversity, Professional Wellness, Occupational Health, Palliative Care, Late Careers and the Ambulatory Subcommittee.

Her clinical research interests are in pain medicine, vasopressor use in flap surgery, enhanced recovery options, and anesthesia techniques impacting oncologic surgery. Here latest editorial achievements have been being named a section editor for Current Opinions in Anesthesiology and editor in International Anesthesiology Clinics Oncology edition.

She lives in Pearland, TX with her husband George. When not providing perioperative care and fulfilling academic pursuits, Dr. Dangler stays busy near home with real estate improvements. However, her true passion is traveling the world and enjoying other cultures and aims to see every continent.
