      Received BSc and MD from the University of Toronto in 1973 and 1977. Internship at St. Joseph's Hospital/Toronto then Anesthesia Residency at the University of Toronto. FRCPC in 1982 and Certified by the ABA in 1984. Practiced at the Toronto General Hospital in Anesthesiology until 1992. Three years in private practice in Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, then Ben Taub Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine for five years until 2000.
