      About Dr. Ahmed Awad

      Dr. Ahmed Awad is an interventional radiologist with extensive training in both diagnostic and interventional radiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. Following his residency, Dr. Awad pursued advanced fellowships in Interventional Radiology at Hamad Medical Corporation, Interventional Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Cardiothoracic Imaging at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. His diverse training has equipped him with expertise in advanced image-guided therapies, particularly in vascular and oncologic interventions.

      Research Interests

      Dr. Awad’s research focuses on oncologic interventions and image-guided therapies, with a particular emphasis on thermal ablation techniques for treating solid tumors. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his findings at prestigious conferences, including the Global Embolization Oncology Symposium Technologies (GEST), the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) annual meeting, the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, and the European Society of Radiology conferences. His presentations have addressed the safety and outcomes of various thermal ablation techniques and innovative approaches in interventional oncology. 

      Clinical Interests

      Dr. Awad’s clinical interests center on minimally invasive oncologic interventions, including thermal ablation for hepatic and renal tumors, as well as innovative techniques in thoracic imaging. His primary clinical focus is enhancing the patient experience and optimizing patient care.
