      About Dr. Daoyan Wei

      I am an associate professor in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at MD Anderson. My research leverages patient-derived models, genetically engineered mouse models, and molecular and cellular biological approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance of gastrointestinal cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer. Our ultimate goal is to develop novel early detection methods and effective intervention strategies to improve the outcomes of these diseases.
