About Dr. Gabriela Tantillo Sepulveda
Dr. Tantillo Sepúlveda is a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist specializing in epilepsy. She previously served as neurology faculty at the comprehensive epilepsy center at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Tantillo Sepúlveda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, where she also minored in French and studied abroad in Italy. She holds a Master of Public Health in Quantitative Methods from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and received her medical degree magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Her postgraduate training includes a neurology residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital—where she served as head of wellness for the residency, and dual fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy from the same institution.
Dr. Tantillo Sepúlveda’s academic interests include EEG monitoring, epilepsy, women’s issues in neurology and neurological complications of cancer and infectious diseases. Her research has been featured in peer-reviewed journals such as Epilepsia, the Journal of Neuroradiology and Neuropsychopharmacology. She has additionally written book chapters for educational books such as “Rowan’s Primer of EEG” and “Neurology Secrets”. She has presented at national conferences including the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology and has earned numerous academic honors recognizing her exemplary performance.
Dr. Tantillo Sepúlveda is also an enthusiastic educator, actively involved in resident and fellow training. She has received numerous teaching awards from medical students, neurology residents and neurophysiology fellows during her career, and previously served as associate program director for the clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Tantillo Sepúlveda is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French. Outside of medicine, she enjoys biking, traveling, theater and exploring Houston’s performing arts scene.
