About Dr. Szklaruk
Janio Szklaruk joined MDACC in October 2000. Prior to coming to MDACC, he was an Assistant Professor in radiology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Szklaruk has participated as an educator in multiple national and international conferences. This includes refresher courses and workshops at the RSNA and the Society of Abdominal Radiology. Dr. Szklaruk has published articles in oncologic imaging in AJR, Plos One, JCAT, and Abdominal Imaging. He has co-authored multiple book chapters and section of a textbook on oncologic imaging. Dr. Szklaruk has been invited to participate as a speaker at national and international conferences. This includes conferences in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Israel. He has also participated as a Visiting Professor in many of these countries. His research interests are applications of new MR imaging techniques and contrast agents to the evaluation of hepatobiliary tumors.
He served as a Co-Chief, ad interim of the AI section from September 2016 until January 2018.
He was the Chief of Abdominal Imaging MR from 2014 to 2022.
