      About Dr. Jie Jane Chen

      Dr. Jie Jane Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Central Nervous System Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in treating primary and metastatic tumors of the brain and spine in adult patients. Dr. Chen received an M.D. with cum laude honors from Harvard Medical School. She completed residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Chen is committed to providing exceptional oncologic care and effecting meaningful improvements in outcomes and quality of life for her patients.

      Dr. Chen's clinical and research interests include applying computational approaches to identify patients' symptoms, integrating palliative radiotherapy and specialty palliative care, and developing innovative curricula on myriad topics in radiation oncology. Dr. Chen has received many awards, including the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) Resident Educator of the Year Award, Radiation Oncology Institute (ROI) Publication Excellence Award, and the UCSF Exceptional Physician Award in recognition of her leadership, advocacy, and dedication to compassionate patient care.
