About Dr. Stewart
I am a professor in the Department of Pathology and the Chief of the Cytopathology Section. I graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. I joined the faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2001 after completing the Cytopathology Fellowship here.
I am a full-time pathologist and 100% of my clinical service is in cytopathology. I have a special interest and expertise in the interpretation of endobronchial ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations and in the clinical use and pre-analytic evaluations of cytologic samples for molecular testing. I have given local, national, and international lectures and workshops on these subjects for pathologists and bronchoscopists.
