About Dr. Cata
I am an anesthesiologist and physician-scientist with a passion for the care of cancer patients whose area of expertise is the role of perioperative factors that lead to cancer recurrence and poor survival. Following my internship and residency in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Hospital Privado de Cordoba, Cordoba, Argentina, I joined the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2002. Them, I completed an Anesthesiology residency in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland in 2010, and in 2011, I joined the Cleveland Clinic Anesthesiology Department as an attending anesthesiologist and Clinical Investigator in the Outcomes Research Department.
In 2012, following my passion for the care of patients with cancer and my research interests, I joined the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Division of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at MD Anderson Cancer Center as an Instructor. Then, I was promoted to Clinical track Assistant Professor. In 2017, I was promoted as Tenure track Assistant Professor to be focused on my translational research. In 2020, I was promoted to Tenure Track Associate Professor.
