About Dr. Megan Kalambo
Dr. Megan Kalambo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Breast Imaging at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) and Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for the Houston Area Locations (HALs). She obtained her medical degree from Pennsylvania State College of Medicine and completed her residency training at The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston. Following her residency, she completed a dedicated breast imaging fellowship at MDACC in 2012 and then joined as a faculty member in 2013. From November 2014 to June 2020, Dr. Kalambo worked as a community-based academic radiologist in the MDACC network expansion partnership with Memorial Hermann. In June 2020, she became Faculty Lead of Breast Imaging in the Houston Area Locations. In October 2021, she began serving as the inaugural Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for the Houston Area Locations (HALs), overseeing both the clinical operations and expansion of our Houston community-based breast imaging network and partnership engagements.
She currently practices at all three dynamic multidisciplinary community-based HAL breast centers interpreting mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRI and performing image-guided breast interventions. She has a keen interest in clinical operations, the growth of academic community-based practice, safety and quality improvement and the development of novel minimally invasive interventional techniques. She also has a passion for teaching residents and fellows.
