About Dr. Nir Stanietzky
Dr. Stanietzky is a Professor of Radiology in Abdominal imaging. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada. He completed his residency training at the University of Toronto and is certified by both the American Board of Radiology and well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Stanietzky completed his Fellowship in Abdominal Radiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in 2003.
Prior to arriving at M.D. Anderson, Dr. Stanietzky was the Chief of Radiology at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center from 2017- 2020 and the Vice Chairman of Radiology at the Baylor College of Medicine. He previously served as the St. Luke's residency and fellowship director and has a strong interest in education. At MD Anderson, he mentors technologists, medical students, residents and fellows from the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas.
Dr. Stanietzky has lectured nationally and internationally. His areas of interest include colorectal imaging with a particular interest in rectal MRI. He is an active participant in the multidisciplinary rectal conference as has been involved in multiple collaborative research projects related to this topic. He has a particular interest in quality assurance.
