      About Dr. Ehlers II

      Dr. Ehlers is a native Texan, born in Vernon, TX.  He is a graduate of Rice University (B.A. 1991) and The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (M.D. 1995, M.S. 1999).  After medical school, he completed residency training in the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2002.  He went on to become a Fellow and Clinical Specialist at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Departments of Surgical Oncology and Critical Care.  In 2010, he rejoined the staff of The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where he now serves as the Executive Medical Director and Associate Vice President for all of M.D. Anderson’s Houston Area Locations outside of the Texas Medical Center.  Dr. Ehlers specializes in the care of patients with breast cancer and melanoma.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
