Salil Kumar, MD, Assistant Professor, specializes in advanced heart failure and transplantation; his clinical interests include amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, heart failure with reduced and preserved ejection fraction, remote pulmonary pressure monitoring and triaging patients for cardiac replacement therapies. His research interests include amyloidosis surveillance and referral for heart or multi-organ transplantation, identifying and treating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in cancer patients, and using artificial intelligence for early detection of cardiac toxicities from cancer therapies.
Dr. Kumar received his medical degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He then completed his clinical fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Houston Methodist Hospital.
