About Dr. Gupta
Shiva Gupta, M.D., M.B.A. is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Abdominal Imaging. He received his B.A. in Mathematics and Neuroscience with Honors from Bowdoin College, and graduated summa cum laude. Shiva earned his medical degree and completed his diagnostic radiology residency training at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center and completed his Body MRI fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He received his Executive MBA at Rice University Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in May 2024, and received the Jones Scholar Award.
Dr. Gupta has a keen interest in healthcare economics and organized medicine. Shiva serves as the Association of Academic Radiology's American Medical Association CPT® Advisor and is a member of the American College of Radiology Economics Committee on Coding & Nomenclature. Dr. Gupta also serves as a Councilor to the American College of Radiology for the Texas Radiological Society, Diagnostic Radiology Alternate Carrier Advisory Committee Representative for Texas, and as a Harris County Delegate to the Texas Medical Association House of Delegates.
Dr. Gupta's clinical research interests include radiologic tumor measurement techniques, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging techniques, and renal cell carcinoma.
