About Dr. Piya
Sujan Piya, Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Department of Leukemia since 2015. Dr. Piya received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular biology in 2009. Dr. Piya joined as a postdoctoral fellow in Department of Leukemia at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2014. He was trained as a postdoctoral fellow in Department of Neuro-Oncology and Leukemia at the MD Anderson Cancer Center under the mentorship of Dr.Juan Fueyo and Dr. Michael Andreeff/ Dr. Gautam Borthakur. Dr. Piya is actively involved in translational research work mainly to explore the involvement of epigenetic vulnerability, autophagy and stromal integrated signaling to maintenance of stem- and progenitor cells in cancer and understanding the drug adaptation/identify the target to enhance the drug sensitivity in cancer.
