      About Dr. Syed Wamique Yusuf

      Dr. S.Wamique Yusuf is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He obtained his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and pursued his Internal Medicine training in the United Kingdom.  His research included prospective studies on the effect of helicobacter pylori on fibrinogen level in elderly population with coronary artery disease and impact of spironolacatone on quality of life in elderly patients with heart failure. He moved to USA in 1996 and completed his cardiology fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He serves as the Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program and the Program Co-Director for the ACC Cardiovascular Board Review.
