About Dr. Woodard
Dr. Terri L. Woodard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also holds a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine. As a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, she has a specific interest in fertility preservation for reproductive age individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Woodard came to MD Anderson to establish the Oncofertility Consult Service provided through the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine. This new service offers fertility counseling prior to cancer treatment, as well as comprehensive fertility preservation and family-building services for men and women whose reproductive potential may or may have been impacted by cancer or its treatment.
Prior to her fellowship training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and Detroit Medical Center, she was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar. During this time, Dr. Woodard studied physiologic measures of sexual function in women. Her research interests at MD Anderson include looking at how measures of ovarian reserve change with cancer treatment, as well as the psychosocial aspects of oncofertility, including how people make decisions about future options for parenthood.
Dr. Woodard is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She is the Chair of the Sexuality Special Interest Group of the ASRM. She also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, as well as a reviewer for several journals including Fertility and Sterility and the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
