Research Interests
1. My research focuses on exploring predictive and prognostic biomarkers that are associated with radiation treatment response of thoracic cancers. Concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the standard treatment of cancer patients with locally advanced disease. However, the failure rate remains high (50-60%) for this population and predictive biomarkers are urgently needed to facilitate selection of the most effective treatment strategy. My publications reported genetic, proteomic, and other molecular biomarkers that could be served as predictors of disease outcome before treatment starts.

2. The other aspect of my research focuses on the predictive biomarkers of radiation-induced toxicity. The technique of radiation treatment developed quickly in the recent decades aimed to target the tumor and deliver the radiation more accurately. However, the vicinity of noncancerous “normal” tissues or structures will still inevitably be involved, which can lead to a series of side effects or toxicities. My publication of radiation toxicities included radiation-induced lymphopenia, esophagitis, pneumonitis, and cardiac toxicity event.
