About Dr. Victor Eduardo Mulanovich
I was born in the U.S. and raised in Lima, Peru, where I attended medical school. After completing my residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases, I practiced the specialty in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until 2003. I then moved to Lima, Peru, where I practiced for 2 years and taught Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. I moved to Texas in 2005 and was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I practiced and taught Infectious Diseases with special emphasis in HIV and infections in solid organ transplant recipients. I transferred to MD Anderson in 2006 and work mainly as a clinician, specializing in infections in patients with hematological malignancies and stem cell transplants. In addition, I have teaching and administrative responsibilities including being Deputy Department Chair and Director of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.

Research Interests
My research is mainly clinical, often collaborative with other specialties. It overlaps with my clinical interest in infections in patients with hematological malignancies and recipients of stem cell transplants. Most studies I authored are retrospective.
Clinical Interests
My field of interest is infections in patients with hematological malignancies and stem cell transplant recipients. I dedicate 75% of my effort to patient care, predominantly consulting in patients with leukemias, lymphomas and myelomas with or without stem cell transplantation.
