About Dr. Yaohong Wang
I am an academic gastrointestinal and liver pathologist with a background in both basic science and translational research. My clinical research focuses on integrating emerging technologies to enhance the precision of diagnostic procedures for gastrointestinal and liver diseases, including AI-based histopathologic pattern recognition, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell analysis. In parallel, I have maintained a long-standing interest in translational research, investigating the role of actin cytoskeleton remodeling in gastrointestinal epithelial cell migration, turnover, apoptosis, and oncogenesis, as well as its impact on mucosal integrity. My ultimate career goal in pathology is to integrate my pathology training and basic science research background into clinical practice and translational research to achieve excellence in patient care.
